–Relax at The Barn–
The Barn at Reef is a unique self-catering cottage, tucked into the picturesque hills of Uig on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis. It provides luxury for couples wanting a restful, romantic break, and flexibility for families and friends on holiday. The generous, single-floor living space is cosy and welcoming, encapsulating the essence of the Hebrides.

The Barn
The cottage is a conversion built on the original footprint of a traditional blackhouse. In the 1920s a new croft house was built next door and the original blackhouse was then used as a byre. The neighbours still remember doing the milking there as children.
It has two large bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and a cosy sitting-dining room. Solid oak flooring links the rooms, leading to the wind-weathered feel of the house.
The Sitting/Dining Room
At the heart of the cottage is the woodburning stove, guaranteeing cosiness in all weathers. A vintage Danish leather sofa is hard to resist on dull, driech days and tactile sheepskins and Harris Tweed cushions remind guests they are truly in the heart of the Hebrides.
Free, unlimited WiFi, a large screen TV, DVD player and an eclectic selection of DVDs and books are available for quiet days and evening entertainment.
Master Bedroom
The generous master bedroom has a substantial hand-cast, king-sized, iron bed with feather duvet, cosy quilt and pure linen covers. A comfortable sofa by the window provides a quiet corner for reflection.
Second Bedroom
The second bedroom contains a double bed plus a traditional-styled Crofter’s box bed that will delight children and adults alike.
Kitchen
The bright kitchen - with door opening onto the back garden - is fully equipped with everything you need, including a modern cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washing machine and charming Belfast sink.
Bathroom
The bathroom contains a powerful shower and is supplied with linen and locally-produced Hebridean soap.
Garden
Catching the morning sun, the garden to the front of the cottage has views towards the Harris mountains and Loch Roag and is a lovely place to sit and start your day with a morning cuppa.
The Barn's elevated position ensures that it is in full sun all day and, by afternoon, the back garden acts as a perfect sun trap where you can sit out on the decking and watch the sun go down in the West.
